A New Home for Young Israel of Denver

2.5 years ago, we moved into our current space at 440 S Monaco, and together, we built more than just a shul—we built a thriving community. We’ve celebrated countless chagim, smachot, and Shabbatot, creating memories that have shaped who we are today.

As our community continues to grow, we’ve all felt the challenge of an overflowing space. A typical Shabbat now leaves many of us standing, and our children’s groups, kiddushes, and events have outgrown our current setup. It’s time to think bigger—to build a space that not only fits our needs today but supports our continued growth for years to come.

Our dedicated building committee has secured a lot right across the street from our current shul at 6500 E Alaska, and we have been working diligently on plans for our new home.

What’s in store for our future shul?
* A sanctuary with double the current capacity
* A spacious social hall connected to an outdoor area
* A well-equipped kitchen fit for our growing kiddushes and events
* Multiple classrooms for age-appropriate children’s groups
* An inviting, functional space designed for smachot, learning, and community gatherings

You can view the latest renderings below and on display in the YID lobby. While the final design is pending city approvals, we are excited to share this vision with you.

Where We Are & How You Can Help
* Phase 1: The property is under contract, plans have been submitted for city approvals, and due diligence is underway.
* Estimated project cost: $1.8M
* Goal: To complete the new building in time for Yamim Noraim 2026

This gives us time to consider how we can contribute over the next three years. Every donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful impact on our future.
We will keep you updated every step of the way. If you have any questions, please reach out to info@yidenver.org, and we’ll direct your inquiry to the right committee member.

Together, let’s build a space that reflects the warmth and strength of our community.

Thank you,
